He has also earned his Master's degree in Dance Education, which certifies him to instruct K-12 students. Teaching Statement

I believe that the purpose of dance education isn’t just so a child can learn how to perform steps in a recital. My belief is that dance reveals a new perspective of the world that most don't have the time or patience to appreciate. Dance slowly reveals to a child how to handle life itself: how we treat people with respect, how we treat ourselves with dignity and self-importance, and how we deal with injury and our body’s natural limitations. Dance also teaches children the experience of failure, self-motivation, and the feeling of humble victory. Temper control, concentration, and problem-solving are essential for students when it comes to their own choreography or demonstration. Furthermore, I believe students should be taught to dance with their emotions. My goal as a future teacher and choreographer is to let the audience know the clear intent of the dance, either by music or facial expression. Students in dance should store emotional experiences and learn when to let them out for certain works they perform. This way, dance is useful for coping with the real world’s issues like loss or anger.

My artistry focuses on three main principles: narrative, emotion, and target audience. The choreography seeks to tell some element of story, expression, and to generate appreciation of the audience viewing it. Because of this, my art usually involves color, energetic or familiar music, aerobic movement such as leaps, turns, slides, and jumps, and lastly acrobatics. I utilize this to the best of my ability to move the audience into an environment more immersive than a theatre seat. My dance should successfully transport someone to another place; my dance should make them ask questions, interpret life in different ways, or find inspiration to try new things after viewing my work. And lastly, I seek to make sure that the audience is never alienated; my work is for the audience, because their participation, appreciation, and inspiration is my personal goal above all else.
